: : I recently dug up some lavendar irises and planted them in my yard.  A few have bloomed but most of the leaves have fallen over.  How can I assure that they will keep growing?  And do irises spread at all?

: Irises need good drainage and full sun. Do not overwater. The rhizomes should be planted just below surface or they wouldn't  bloom.  After about 4 years you have to divide and replant the clumps  because they will be overcrowded. Fertilize in early spring and after bloom.
