Hi Joanne,
You don't have to do anything. Ants often pick particular plants to guard. Others they pick because there are bugs that they either want to harvest their 'honeydew' or they want to eat them. I would suggest you watch if there are any other bugs. If there are, make sure there is a problem before you spray. The bugs may just fight it out by themselves and your plant will be fine. :)
