: Hi, I've got a pear tree with pear scab, the fruit is very sweet and juicy though, we just peel the scabbed skin. Anyhow, I would appreciate anyone with any advice or suggestions to get rid of scab, though the tree looks healthy and the leaves are have holes. I don't want to lose the tree in the long run. appreciate any advice or suggestions.
To prevent recurrence of the disease next year, remove and destroy leaf debris and infected fruit in the fall. Next spring, spray with a fungicide containing captan when buds are just opening and green tips are about 1/4 in. long. Repeat every 10 days until 3-4 weeks after the petals fall. Good eating!
