Shrubs fungus?

: Hi-  I have no idea what kind of shrubs that I have, but I have a major problem.  I have a white, powdery type stuff on the leaves and it has killed one shrub and is now attacking another one.  They are not near each other.  I have no idea what this stuff is or where to find a picture of it.  I can take a picture of the shrub(s) with the stuff on it, if someone can please point me in the general direction I need to be on this.  Oh, don't know if it matters, but I live in SW Oklahoma.  Thanks in advance for any help!
