Whats eating my Hollyhocks ??

: My hollyhocks looks good , this is their first year,. But something is eatting the leaves. There are hundreds of small holes in them. what could be eatting them and how would i treat it. Got to watch what i put on them since they are right close to my fish pond. An y help would be  thankful
