Rhodies are easy to transplant- especially in the fall when worrying about watering is less of an issue. However, you might want to consider why they have become gangly- are they in heavy shade? Are they in poor soil? If you are looking for a more dense compact Rhodie, you might consider looking for a different cultivar too. If the plant needs more sun then it will probably be happier getting moved with a shot of fertilizer to help it along. Katy
