Cotoneaster perpusilla
( Perpusilla Rockspray )
| 'Perpusilla' lies flat on the ground with dark green leaves about 1/4 inches long. This low, dense shrub has a horizontal habit and is a natural on the bank, slope, or espaliered against a wall. Leaves are dark green and glossy, turning a burgundy or purple color in fall. May to June flowers are small and pink. It's unfortunate that is is one of the most susceptible to fireblight (see Davis and Peterson, J. Arboriculture May, 1976, Susceptibility of Cotoneasters to Fireblight). |
| Important Info : Soil should be well-drained, loose, and fertile, but don't discount their use if your soil is dry or poor. This hardy plant seems to hang on just find. Accept pruning almost anytime of year. |
