| This is a deciduous shrub with spreading, open growth to 10 feet tall and 15 feet. Leaves are dark green, oblong to oval, veins are prominant, to 12 inches in length. Nice bronze-purple color in fall. Green, unisexual flowers are borne in axillary clusters. In the fall, bears round, red fruit to a 1/4 of an inch across, foliage becomes yellow. Best adapted to cold, dry areas with poor soil. Native to Republic of Georgia, E. Turkey, Armenia. |
