| Tuberous, fibrous-rooted perennial with 3-lobed, hairy, dark green basal leaves . Bears colorful, rose-like flowers in late spring. If double, blooms are tightly bundled bunches of delicate petals. Single flowers have five petals. Both flowers have blue-black or brown-black centers.
Fall planting will result in winter flowers in milder areas. In cooler areas, plant in spring as soon as soil can be worked. |
