| 'Blue Maid' is among the hardiest of the hollies hailing from northern Japan. A true holly look in a dense, broad shrub with a pyramidal form, up to 15 feet high, with abundant red berries, purple stems and extremely dark blue-green foliage. Leaves are small, glossy and spiny. Needs rich, slightly acidic soil. This cultivar is one of the hardiest of the species. It is fast growing, bearing prolific red berries. |
