| The cultivar, 'Zia Pueblo' was collected from the pueblo of Zia in New Mexico at 5500 feet elevation. Peppers are 2-4 inches long, hot and mildly sweet with thin flesh. Grown with irrigation. Great container or border plant.
C. annuum should be started indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Sow the seeds in sandy soil and give them warmth. Transplant 12-16 inches apart. Likes a fertilizer treatment once a month. To keep compact, pinch leaves on young plants. Full sun produces best growth and fruiting results. |
