| The common sunflower is easily grown from seed and is available in a variety of colors and heights up to 10 feet tall. A true sun worshiper, its head follows the sun as it crosses the sky. Sunflowers require plenty of water and are known for literally sucking soil dry, which can be a problem for neighboring plants.
