| Flava is a clump-forming perennial with short rhizomes, upright, hairy stems with widely ovate, veined, mid-green leaves, often with dark purplish green spots. Produces upward-facing, star-shaped yellow flowers, spotted brownish purple. In general, Tricyrtis is a woodland perrenial resembling false Solomon's Seal in foliage. Flowers are somewhat orchid-like, spotted, 1 inch wide, blooming in late summer or early fall. Flowers bloom at leaf bases and in terminal clusters. They need rich organic soil, and a moist woodland environment. |
