| Named for its dark red to purple panicles. Spreading deciduous shrub grown for its long clusters of fragrant flowers throughout the summer. Panicles up to 20 inches long of dense fragrant flowers grow in summer. Reaches 10 feet tall to about 15 feet wide. Graceful, arching branches bear pointed silvery-green leaves to 10 inches long. Ideal for attracting butterflies. Combines well with other perennials, especially daylilies and shasta daisies. This is one plant that thrives on severe pruning. |
