|Deciduous, erect, bushy shrub that grows to 20' tall and wide. Leaves are pinnate, to 10" long, consisting of up to 5 medium green, toothed, ovate leaflets. In early summer produces flattened panicles, to 8" wide, of musk-scented, small, white flowers. After blooming period is over, produces small, round, shiny black fruit. Native to Europe, North Africa, and Southwest Asia.
Important Info : Take note: birds love the fruit of these plants, but humans should be more careful. Excessive consumption causes nausea, especially if eaten raw.
