| This is narrowly pyramidal, deciduous tree. Round lobed, star-shaped leaves are reminiscent of some maples. They have 5-7 lobes and appear either alternate or palmate and rich deep green and glossy, turning to striking range of yellow to deep burgundy and varies yearly. Leaves are followed by mace-like fruit clusters. Plant in full sun for best fall colors. Many homeowners will object to the gum balls so consider the cultivar 'Rotundiloba' which is fruitless. |
