Coreopsis grandiflora
( Sunburst Coreopsis )
| This is a very showy, upright, clump-forming perennial. Leaves are simple and lance-shaped, to 4 inches long. 'Sunburst' bears brilliant yellow, double flowerheads, up to 2 1/2" across, consisting of ray florets with uneven cut margins, and orangish-yellow disk florets. Grows to 36" tall and spreads 18". Coreopsis is attractive to bees, and makes an excelllent cut flower. Easily established by seed and will reseed itself if flowerheads are not removed before they mature. Native to central and southeastern U.S. |
