| Annual with compound leaves, medium green, large and palmate, with lance-shaped leaflets to 3 inches long. Grown for their brilliant rich blue, pink or lavender marked with white sweet pea shaped 1 inch flowers on tall spikes in spring and early summer. Wonderful cottage garden additions, eye-catching when planted in large masses. Other than requiring good drainage, not fussy about soil. Can start from seed in winter or early spring. Excellent for banks that are barren. |
