| Pyrus salicifolia is a small to medium decorative pear tree, reaching 15-25 feet tall. The habit is open and rounded with arching branches; a graceful tree. The leaves are narrow and silvery, willow-like. Small white flowers bloom on dense corymbs. The fruits have the typical pear shape, but are 1 1/2 inches long. Fireblight can devastate this tree, so it has not been widely used in the U.S. Several cultivars are available. |
