| 'Ginny' has attractive foliage with white-haired, narrow, deep green leaves with red veins. The undersides are suffused with red. Immature flowers are bright pink, opening at maturity to include pale pink. Stemming is upright and zig-zag between the nodes. This plant enjoys filtered light but can take some sun in winter. Soil should ideally be moist. Begonias grow very well in peat-based compost also. Likes humidity. Does not like cold weather. Pinching tips and pruning outer stems in the growing season gives a bushier plant, good for hanging. Sudden temperature change causes leaves to drop. |
