| Lathyrus gmelinii has deep green leaves that are separated into 3 to 6 pairs of mid-green, oval leaflets. Produces one sided racemes of 4 to 15 brown striped, yellow-orange flowers, in late spring to mid-summer.
An old-fashioned plant that is invaluable for providing attractive bunches of flowers, it is delicate looking with large and pea-shaped, pastel, fragrant flowers. A great cut flower, especially wonderful when used as one, massive bouquet. Easily started from seed. Plants may climb up step railings, trellises or twigs that form a tee pee. |
