| This shrub has a rounded, spreading growth habit, woolly, evergreen foliage and bears unusual whorls of hooded flowers. Leaves are prominently veined, lance-shaped and bright green, to 3 inches long. Flowers are held on upright shoots, to 1 1/2 inches long. Excellent for the flower border. Mixes well with rock roses and lavender. If plant become too leggy, selectively prune back, no more than half the plant.
Phlomis longifolia bears dark yellow flowers with calyx teeth to 1/8 inch long in summer. 4 feet tall, 6 feet wide. S.W. Asia. |
