| Spreading deciduous shrub grown for its long clusters of deep mauve, somewhat ruffled fragrant flowers throughout the summer. Panicles up to 1 foot long of dense fragrant flowers have orange eyes. Graceful, arching branches bear pointed silvery-green leaves to 10 inches long. Reaches 10 feet tall to 15 feet wide. Ideal for attracting butterflies. Combines well with other perennials, especially daylilies and shasta daisies. This is one plant that thrives on severe pruning. |
