| Viburnum utile is a small evergreen shrub, usually 6 feet in height with a somewhat straggly appearance. The leaves are opposite, simple, ovate to oblong, and have a wavy look. The flowers are 2 to 3 inches, white, in rounded cymes, occuring in mid to late spring. A small blue-black drupe is the resulting fruit.
The species is generally not ornamental enough to be included in most gardens, several popular cultivars have been developed, retaining the heat tolerance of this shrub. Native to China. |
