| The Rubus genus is made up of flowering, and better yet, fruiting (yum) shrubs that may or may not have thorns. There are both native and ornamental selections, some evergreen, some deciduous.
Most brambles do well in full to partial sun and tolerate infrequent watering. A member of the Rose family, they flower from May to June followed by fruit that ripens in late summer. Birds love the fruit, so you may have to share the harvest.
Fruit is produced on one year old wood. For best results, cut down all fruited canes to ground level. |
