| Pieris formosa is an attractive evergreen shrub, particularly suited for the west. It will grow over 10 feet in height with a rounded habit. The new leaves are brilliant red in spring, 3 to 7 inches long, providing colorful spring foliage. Flowers are white, urn-shaped, and held in pendent, terminal panicles.
Prefers a cool temperate climate, moist, well drained, acid soil.
Flower buds are formed during the summer before flowering and persist on the shrub through winter. |
