| 'Caronella' bears an abundance of showy, vivid, rich pink flowers beginning in late March. 'Shrimp Pink' hybrids are the result of crosses between R. carolinianum var. album and R. mucronulatum 'Cornell Pink.' The 'Shrimp Pink' hybrids are smaller rhododendrons, growing to a height of 3 to 6 feet tall. Form is spreading and upright, foliage is leathery and dark green until fall when it turns light red. One of the reasons why this is such a heavy flowerer is that the plant does not set seed. An excellent rhododendron for the New England states. |
