| Short, evergreen perennial with tufts of open rosettes bearing slender, dark green, hairy, lance-shaped leaves, to 1 1/4" long. Dianthus-like flowers are dark rose-pink, loosely branched, up to 1 1/4" wide, borne in late summer. Grows to 4" tall and spreads 8". This delicate plant is easy to grow and is at home in the woodland or rock garden that does not get too much winter moisture. Native to Japan. |
