| This is a spreading, fast-growing, large tree with a rounded crown and bright orange to yellow shoots. Leaves are lanceolate, saw-toothed, bright green on top, underside bluish-green, up to 4 in. long. Foliage often turns brilliant golden yellow in autumn. Narrow, yellow catkins on males, to 2 in. long, with yellow anthers, yellowish-green on females to 1 1/4 in. long, borne in spring. Grows to 80' tall and 30' wide. A beautiful lanscape specimen for moist to wet locations. Native to Europe, N. Africa, and C. Asia. |
