| Spiraea japonica Flaming Globe is a dense, compact deciduous shrub with a mounding habit. Sharply toothed leaves are bright yellow, lance-shaped, to 3 inches long. Foliage is bronzy-pink when young and turns bright red in fall. Flowers are sparingly produced. Spiraea can be nipped by late frost. Fast growing, good for filling a space in a shrub border. Prefers full sun and well drained soil. Native to China and Japan. |
