| Lathrus aureus has deep green leaves that are separated into 3 to 5 pairs of green leaflets. Produces one sided racemes of 8 to 25 yellow-orange flowers.
An old-fashioned plant that is invaluable for providing attractive bunches of flowers, it is a delicate looking plant with large and pea-shaped, pastel, fragrant flowers from spring to early summer. A great cut flower, especially wonderful when used as one, massive bouquet. Easily started from seed, do so by soaking seeds in water a couple of hours prior to planting. Sow seeds directly into ground 1 inch to 2 inches apart, 1 inch deep. Plants may climb up step railings, trellises or twigs that form a tee pee. |
