| C. nootkatensis is a medium large evergreen, under cultivation it usually does not exceed 30-45 feet tall, in the wild it grows to 90 feet high. The crown is conical with pendulous branches and dark bluish or grayish green foliage. Requires high moisture in the atmosphere, cool climate. Not found as commonly as other species in cultivation, a very good choice for those areas in which it is found native, also does well outside of its range. Native from coastal Alaska to Washington's Cascade Mountains, south to Oregon. |
