| Gloxinia require a minimum night temperture of 60 F, the tubers are planted in March and bloom in the summer. Tubular or bell or funnel shaped flowers bloom singly or in pairs on erect stems 2 to 4 feet tall. The cultivar, 'Red Bird' had egg-shaped, dark green leaves and blooms in single orange-red flowers to 1-1/2 inches long with red spotted yellow insides. |
