| Spiraea japonica Green Globe is a dense, compact deciduous shrub with a mounding habit. Sharply toothed, lance-shaped leaves are bright green, to 1 inch long, turning bright purplish-red in autumn. In summer, small, soft pink flowers are borne in upright, rounded corymbs to 2 inches in diameter. Spiraea can be nipped by late frost, prune after flowering. Fast growing, good for filling a space in a shrub border. Prefers full sun and well drained soil. Native to China and Japan. |
