| This evergreen shrub has a compact mounding habit and grows to a height of 3 to 4 feet tall and wide. It produces reddish-bronze new growth that matures to a glossy green. Black berries in fall follow orange-yellow flowers. Use as an informal hedge, in the shrub border, or on banks. Plant in full sun and fertilize in spring just before new growth begins. Prune as needed to control growth. Attractive form without pruning. Keep soil evenly moist until completely established. Drought tolerant when established. |
