| Styrax obassia is a small tree, reaching 20 to 30 feet tall. The growth habit is pyramidical in youth, opens and rounds with age. The beautiful white flowers are fragrant, on 4 to 10 inches long racemes, late spring, or early summer flowering. Leaves are large and dark green, no real fall color. Foliage leafs out early, and can be damaged by early frosts. The fruit is not particularly ornamental. Native to Japan. |
