| The cultivar, 'Silver Cloud' is a deciduous, spreading tree.
C. canadensis has heart-shaped foliage and small, bright, crimson to pink, pea-shaped blooms. Leaves are variegated with irregulare white markings, up to 4 inches long. Foliage turns a lovely yellow in fall. In early spring clusters of small, 1/2 inch long flowers provide a wonderful display before the emergence of the leaves. The blooms are followed by flat pods.
