| The cultivar, 'Forest Pansy' is a deciduous, spreading tree. Leaves are deep purplish red, up to 4 inches long.
C. canadensis has heart-shaped foliage and small, bright, crimson to pink, pea-shaped blooms. Foliage turns a lovely yellow in fall. In early spring clusters of small, 1/2 inch long flowers provide a wonderful display before the emergence of the leaves. The blooms are followed by flat pods. Native to North America.
