| Skimmia reevesiana is a low growing evergreen shrub, 1 1/2-2' tall and 2-3' wide, with quite an open habit. The white, fragrant flowers are produced on 2-3" panicles. Small, pear-shaped, crimson fruits ripen in fall and persist through winter. A lone specimen can set fruit in this species. 'Robert Fortune' is a variegated variety with white margined, light green leaves. Requires a rich, moist acidic soil. Native to China. |
