| This is a rounded, spreading, deciduous tree, to 50 feet tall. Leaves are ovate, often lobed, dark green, up to 3 in. long. Pink buds produce single, fragrant, large white flowers in spring. Produces red to yellow fruit approximately the size of a cherry. This tree does well in most soil, but will be more attractive if fed peat and compost. Moderately susceptible to disease. 'Ballerina' has single white buds that open to showy large cupped white flowers. It has bright yellow fruit and grows upright to fan shaped to 15 feet high. This cultivar is resistant to diseases. |
