| This lovely plant, traditionally associated with Hawaii, is usually grown as a houseplant on the mainland. Leaves are glossy and dark green, to
6 inches long, and are ovate, with a finely toothed edge. Large, delicate blooms with five petals are up to 5 inches across and come in shades of yellow, pink, orange, red and white. Distinctive long stamen extends out from center. Commonly grown outside year round in frost free areas. May be pruned to keep size in check. |
