| Bushy, dense, deciduous shrub with attractive foliage which turns brilliant red in the fall. Leaves are obovate, dark green, and toothed to 3 inches long. Shoots are distinctive in that they have corky ridges. Roundish, red-purple fruit are 3/8 inch across and 1 to 4 lobed. Excellent in a shrub border. Withstands acidic or alkaline soils and a wide range of temperatures. Established plants can take some drought too. |
