| As known botanically as Hemerocalis flava, the lemon daylily is fragrant, deciduous, and has yellow, June flowers. Not a show stopper, but an old-time favorite worthy of any garden just because of the fragrance. Clumping form gives rise to clustered, lily-like flowers atop bare stems. Does best in full sun or partial shade in warmer climates. Though daylilies are drought resistant, they flower better when given some water during bloom. They are relatively trouble free and grow in almost any soil, as long as it is well drained. Divide in early spring. |
