| Broadly upright deciduous azales with ovate, green leaves and dense trusses of funnel-shaped, orange or scarlet flowers. Flowers to 1 3/4 inches in length. Mounding habit, to 6 feet in height and width.
The deciduous native azalea, like it's hybrid counterpart, is known for excellent fall color and unsurpassed spring flowers. The deciduous azalea is usually less picky about soil, though it too prefers acid conditions.
Though azaleas have a potentially large list of possible pest and disease problems, they are usually trouble free if planted correctly in proper cultural conditions. |
