| This rhizomatous perennial thrives in moist,humus-rich, fertile soil, in sun or full shade. The more sun there is however, the more important it is for soil to be moist. In fall, be sure to mulch with a good layer of leaf mold. The fall of the year is the time to plant individual pips also. Space about 1 to 2 feet apart. Each plant has a pair of oval, lance-shaped, hairless leaves. Late spring flowers are bell-shaped and pendent, fragrant and waxy. Nomally white, but may be pink, depending on cultivar. |
