| This lovely plant, traditionally associated with Hawaii, is usually grown as a houseplant on the mainland. Leaves are glossy and dark green, to
6 inches long, and are ovate, with a finely toothed edge. Large, delicate blooms with five petals reach up to 7 inches across. Those of 'Agnes Galt' are light red with conspicuous dark rosy-pink veins. Distinctive long stamens extend out from center. Commonly grown outside year round in frost free areas. May be pruned to keep size in check. |
