| Kadota is a strong grower that bears tough-skinned, green-yellow fruits if grown inland, where it grows best. It bears green fruits if grown along coastal areas. This is a common commericially grown variety used in canning. Ficus ripens in June on old wood and often again in August on current year's wood. This cultivar needs little prunning. Leaves are 3 or 5 lobed, from 4 to 10 inches long. Provides dense shade. Locate where ripe fruit will not drop on patios,terraces or drives. Tolerant of a wide variety of soils and loves heat. Does not need pollination. |
