| Erythronium dens-canis is a member of the lily family, with small corms that produce very dainty, nodding, lily-shaped flowers on 6 inch long stems. Spring blooming in purple, pink or white.
The foliage is a basal rosette of green leaves with a distinctive purplish-brown mottled pattern. They require some winter freeze. Plant the corms 2 to 3 inches deep as soon as received and do not let them dry out. They require some shade so plant under trees, in rock garden or by streams.
This european species has various cultivars available. |
