Hosta sieboldii
( Paxton's Original Plantain lily )
| Hostas are good garden plants, thriving in all soils from pure clay to boggy ground and they usually get bigger every year. They don't seem to suffer from any significant diseases but their enemy at times are slugs and snails.
The cultivar, 'Paxton's Original' is a small, spreading perennial with dark green, wavy, dark green leaves with white edges. Bell shaped, dark lavender flowers with dark purple stripes bloom on straight, bare 20 inch stems in the midseason. |
| Important Info : Formerly known in the gardens as H. sieboldii, and also incorrectly as H. 'Albomarginata'. |
