| This variety tends to be larger than others and has reached heights of 150 in its native Australia. Rough bark and broad green leaves about 6 inches long set off large flower clusters of rose pink. Seed capsules are about 1.5 inches long and rounded. The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable. Trees do very well planted from seed. Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 2 to 3 inches high. |
